Fiscal cash registers, printers and Bridge: how this module works

Cash register, POS and shipments. Content verified: 12 October 2026.

The "Cash registers and printers" module organises the printing of receipts, register invoices, daily reports and labels. Instead of an implicit choice of printer, you get an explicit model and explicit rules: it is clear which document goes to which device, and when it is not clear, the system asks a person instead of guessing.

Model: point, station, device

  • Point of sale: the place where you print (shop, stand, warehouse, online). It has a code, an assigned warehouse and sales channels.
  • Station: a specific register or computer at the point. Needed only when several registers at one point are to print on different devices.
  • Device: "Fiscal cash register", "Label printer", "Receipt printer (non-fiscal)" or "Cash drawer". The document goes to the device indicated by the print rule.

Bridge: a local service the cloud cannot replace

The Zaksio cloud never touches devices. A small Bridge program runs at the register: it establishes an outbound connection (HTTPS) by itself, fetches print jobs, executes them locally via a serial port, USB-serial or TCP, and sends back a confirmation with the receipt number, amount and counters. Without a running Bridge nothing will print, and jobs wait in the queue. Installation is described in the article about installing and pairing Bridge.

Supported drivers

  • Posnet Thermal (Thermal FV EJ 1.01 protocol): receipt (without the buyer's NIP), invoice, X and Z report, cash in and cash out, drawer, status.
  • Novitus (protocol description 1.15): receipt also with NIP, X and Z report, cash in and cash out, drawer, status.
  • Elzab, ElzabSTX protocol (ed. 0.36): receipt also with NIP, invoice (requires issuer details), X and Z report, drawer, status.
  • ESC/POS: non-fiscal printout, drawer, product label, status.
  • ZPL: labels (ready-made ZPL and product labels) and status.

What to check before the first sale

We recommend checking the following before the first sale (for each model, on the device): pairing and heartbeat; a cash receipt, with change, by card and by cash, different VAT rates, fractional items; a receipt with NIP (Novitus, Elzab); cancelling midway; out of paper; unplugging the cable during printing and after confirmation; X and Z report; cash in and cash out; Polish characters (code page); long names; a document with 150 items; exempt rates.

Where to find it in the app

  • "Sales" menu, "Cash registers and printers" item. Tabs: "Overview", "Devices", "Points and stations", "Print rules", "Queue", "X/Z reports".
  • The module requires the `fiscal` business profile feature (the retail sales feature alone does not enable it).
  • Permissions: fiscal:read (viewing), fiscal:write (configuration and queue handling). The queue and reports can also be handled by a cashier with the pos:write permission and a warehouse worker with shipping:write.
  • "Overview" contains the "Launch checklist": point, device, pairing, rules and the coverage validator.
