Google Merchant Center: service account, data source and sending of stock levels and prices

Sales channels and marketplaces. Content verified: 12 October 2026.

What it is for

The Google connector is a listings channel: through Merchant API v1 it retrieves the list of products to be mapped and sends the availability and price of products that are already in Merchant Center.

Connector scope: does not fetch orders or parcels (Google does not provide them, and orders from ads and free listings go to your shop, which you connect as a separate channel). It also does not create new products and does not sign in via customer OAuth.

Where to find it in the app

Sales and logistics, "Sales channels", "Add sales channel", type "Google (Merchant Center)", and in the channel the "Connection" tab. Connector fields: "Merchant Center account ID", "Data source (API type)", "Service account key (JSON)" and optionally "Product content language" (pl by default) and "Feed label" (PL by default).

The form in the "Connection" tab is built from the connector description, so it contains exactly the fields the platform requires, along with short instructions and a link to its documentation. After "Save credentials", click "Test connection"; "Start" in the "Synchronisation" tab only works after a successful check.

Where to get the keys

  1. Create a Merchant Center account (a production one, with a verified shop website) and add products to a data source of the API type. Zaksio updates existing products and does not create new ones.
  2. In Merchant Center, go to Product data, Data sources, create (or open) a primary data source of the API type and copy its number.
  3. In Google Cloud Console, create a project and enable the Merchant API in it. Under IAM, Service accounts, create a service account and add a key in JSON format to it (the file can only be downloaded once).
  4. In Merchant Center, go to Settings, Access and users and add the service account email address (client_email from the file) with the Admin role.
  5. Register the Google Cloud project once by calling developerRegistration:registerGcp for your Merchant account (with the developer email address), with Admin permissions. After registering, wait up to 5 minutes.
  6. Paste the account ID, the data source number and the entire contents of the JSON file, optionally the language and feed label, then use "Check connection".

Documentation: developers.google.com/merchant/api. The connector uses Merchant API v1 only, because the Content API for Shopping was shut down on 18 August 2026.

What it synchronises

  • Listings: list of products from the data source to be mapped by SKU, refreshed daily. Products from a file feed, from another source, or with a different language or label are skipped.
  • Availability: only "IN_STOCK" or "OUT_OF_STOCK". A quantity greater than zero means available; the number of units is not passed on.
  • Prices: gross price in the item's currency, sent once "syncPrices" is enabled. The sale price (salePrice) is left unchanged, and the currency must match the feed's country.

Important notes

  • Merchant API has no batch requests, so each listing is a separate request, and a large change uses up the account's request limit.
  • Changes take effect with a delay of a few minutes, and feed rules and supplemental sources in Merchant Center may overwrite the value that was sent.
