Returns and JPK files: what Zaksio generates and how to file them

Accounting and finance. Content verified: 12 October 2026.

What it is for

Zaksio prepares tax document files and drafts from the data you have in the ledger, invoices and company records. Every XML file is built according to the official XSD schema and validated against it, so structural errors come up before filing.

  • JPK_V7M and JPK_V7(3) in the quarterly version: described separately in the article on VAT and JPK_V7. The app also detects periods in which the data changed after filing (candidates for correction).
  • JPK_FA(4), JPK_MAG (version 1 until the end of 2026, version 2 from the start of 2027, selected based on the period) and JPK_KR_PD from the ledger. JPK_FA cannot be corrected.
  • VAT-UE and OSS and IOSS files (VIU-DO and VII-DO).
  • Drafts of PIT-36L, PIT-28, PIT-36 and CIT-8. These are drafts to complete, not full returns: we take costs from the ledger without tax adjustments, and you enter the owner's contributions, reliefs and losses yourself.

Where to find it in the app

The "Returns and JPK" menu has these tabs: "Calendar" (deadlines and obligations), "JPK" (JPK_FA, JPK_MAG, JPK_KR_PD and the list of periods for JPK_V7 correction), "VAT-UE and OSS", "PIT and CIT" (drafts), "e-Declarations" (submission preparation wizard), "Letters" and "Tax profile". You prepare the JPK_V7 return in the separate "VAT / JPK" item.

Step by step

  1. Complete the "Tax profile" tab. You need a structured address with voivodeship, county and municipality, the form of taxation and the settings for advances, VAT-UE and OSS. Without them JPK_FA, JPK_MAG, JPK_KR_PD and PIT-28 will not be generated.
  2. Generate a draft of the selected document for the period. You will see warnings, for example about "OTHER" account markers in JPK_KR_PD or about items to complete manually.
  3. Review the draft, correct the source data and approve the document. An approved document is frozen.
  4. Download the approved file from Zaksio.
  5. File it yourself: through the e-Declarations gateway, the Ministry of Finance application or an accounting firm. You sign with a qualified signature, a Trusted Profile or authorisation data.
  6. Mark the document as filed. The "filed" status is set by a human; the system does not do it on its own.

Why the signature is on your side

Zaksio never knows your signing key. The e-Declarations submission preparation module works in two phases: the server returns the canonical data to be signed ("signing-request"), you sign it with your key, and the finished value is accepted by the "signature" endpoint. The wizard in the "e-Declarations" tab guides you through these steps (choosing the document, preparing the submission, signature, result). You download the finished file and file it yourself.
