Financial reports and closing accounting periods

Reports
The "Reports" page calculates everything from the general ledger and requires finance read permission. It has three tabs:
- "Profit and loss": the cost-of-sales variant based on income statement accounts, with "From" and "To" fields and shortcuts ("This month", "Previous month", "This year", "Previous year"). VAT and settlements are not included in the result.
- "Balance sheet": assets and liabilities as at the chosen date. The financial result is calculated cumulatively from the start of bookkeeping, without year-end closings. The "Balance sheet consistent" badge is a ledger integrity check.
- "Summary": the result for the month and the year, funds, receivables, payables and inventory value.
Cash flow forecast
The "Liquidity forecast" page (a horizon of 4, 8, 13 or 26 weeks) is calculated deterministically, without AI. The opening balance is the ledger balance of the bank accounts and the cash desk. Inflows are open sales invoices by their due date, outflows are posted purchase invoices by their due date. Receivables up to 30 days overdue go into week 0, and older ones are shown separately as "At-risk receivables".
General ledger
The "General ledger" has the tabs "Journal", "Trial balance" and "Chart of accounts". The ledger is append-only: you correct a wrong entry with a reversal (a new entry with the sides swapped), not by editing. "New entry" lets you add a manual entry with at least two lines, in which debit must equal credit.
Closing periods
- Settings, "Accounting periods": the "Close" button works for completed months and in sequence (an earlier unclosed period with entries blocks closing a later one).
- After closing, the database rejects new entries dated in that month.
- Only the Owner can "Reopen". Changes in a reopened period may alter the result and the data on which returns have already been filed.
- Closing and reopening leave a trail in the audit log.
