Printing a fiscal document from an invoice

On an issued sales invoice (the “Printing on a fiscal printer” card), the “Print on a fiscal printer…” button requests a fiscal document built from that invoice's data. The card is visible only when the company has the “Tills and printers” module, you have permission to operate the till (fiscal:write or pos:write) and the invoice qualifies: it is issued, in zloty (PLN) and is not a correction.

  • “Fiscal receipt”: the fiscal printer prints a receipt for the gross amount of the invoice, with its lines and VAT rates. You can add the buyer's tax ID to the receipt.
  • “Invoice on a fiscal printer”: the fiscal printer prints an invoice with this invoice's number and the buyer's details. It requires the buyer's tax ID (10 digits); without it the option is disabled with an explanation.
  • Before sending, the window shows what will be printed (number, buyer, gross amount, number of lines) and on which fiscal printer, according to the print rules. You also choose the payment method on the document and, with several points of sale, the point.
  • A fiscal document records the sale on the fiscal printer and cannot be undone, so the window asks for a deliberate click on “Print the receipt” or “Print the invoice”.

The same document is never created twice: one invoice gets one receipt and one invoice on the fiscal printer, and a repeated request returns the existing job. The card below shows the job status from the queue (queued, printing, printed, error, needs a decision). After an error you can use “Retry the job”; when it is not known whether the document came out of the printer, you resolve that in the “Queue” (see the article on the print queue).

Product labels with a barcode

On a product (goods) page in the catalogue, the “Print labels” button opens a window with a label preview: name, SKU, barcode from the EAN field and optionally the gross price. You choose the number of labels (1 to 100) and the label printer: “Automatic” according to the print rules, or one picked directly from the configured devices. The button is visible to anyone who can operate the label queue, including a warehouse worker (shipping:write).

  • Barcode: we support EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A (12 digits) and 14-digit codes. An EAN with an incorrect check digit or an unusual length is not printed, because the printer would draw a different code than the one in the catalogue: the label then comes out with the name and SKU, and the window suggests how to correct the EAN in the product details.
  • A product without an EAN gets a label without a barcode; you can add the code in the product's EAN field.
  • Labels go through the same queue as shipping labels, so you can see the status in the window and in the “Queue”.

When there is no fiscal printer or label printer

If the company does not have a suitable device yet, the window says so plainly and points to the next step: add a device in “Tills and printers” (the “Devices” tab), install Zaksio Agent on the computer next to the device and pair it. If there is a device but no rule leads to it, the window suggests adding a print rule (for labels we then print on the first label printer).

Where to find it in the app

  • Sales invoices, an open invoice, the “Printing on a fiscal printer” card (right-hand column).
  • Product catalogue, an open product, the “Print labels” button at the top of the page.
  • Reading the status and choosing a printer requires fiscal:read; without it the job still goes to the queue according to the rules, but you check the status in the “Tills and printers” module.
